Jesse Phillips Taken by Death.
Illness of Six Weeks Proves Fatal; Funeral Will Be Held Monday Morning.

Jesse Phillips, 43, a resident of Muscatine all of his life, died at Hershey hospital at 9:30 p.m., Friday after an illness of six weeks. He had been at the hospital only a few hours when death resulted from a heart attack.

Mr. Phillips was born in Muscatine Sept 16, 1889, and had spent all his life here. He married Myrtle Hesser at Burlington in 1915.

Surviving are his widow; an adopted daughter, Miss Violet Phillips; one sister, Mrs. Lizzie Stocker, Davenport.

Funeral services will be conducted at the Ralph J. Wittich Funeral Home on West Third street at 2 p.m. Monday by the Rev. Ira B. Hawley, pastor of the United Brethren church. Burial will be in the Greenwood cemetery. The body will be taken to Mrs. Bessie Phillips residence, 617 East Seventh street, until Monday morning when it will be removed to the Ralph Wittich chapel,
