J. Harold Barnard, 1523 Washington St., 84, died at 8:15 this morning at his home. Services will be held Monday at 10:30 a.m. at the Ralph J. Wittich Funeral Home. Visitation is to be after 1 p.m. on Sunday afternoon. Greenwood Cemetery will be the burial site.

The son of John C. and Minnie Gochee-Barnard, Mr. Barnard was born June 12, 1893, in Muscatine. He was a life resident of the city.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Kathryn Louise Seevers, and married Frances Aspergren on Aug. 13, 1958, at Clinton.

Affiliations included Trinity Episcopal Church, American Legion, AFW, Elks and Masons. He was a World War I and Mexican border veteran.

Surviving are his second wife; sons John S Barnard of Moline and Thomas G. Barnard of Muscatine; and 10 grandchildren.
