Aged Resident of City Called
Mrs. Henrietta Borgstadt Succumbs to Illness of Six Weeks.

Mrs. Henrietta Borgstadt, 87, resident of Muscatine for the past 33 years, died at her home, 120 Houser street at 3:30 Friday afternoon. Complications resulting from her advanced age caused death. She had been ill for six weeks.
Henrietta Borgstadt, the eldest daughter of the Rev. Karl Kresse, Baptist minister, and Mrs. Kresse, was born in Germany, Oct. 27, 1843. She came to this country when a child of five years, with her parents, living in Missouri until 33 years ago when she came to Muscatine. She was married to John Borgstadt, Dec. 12, 1881. He preceded her in death 37 years ago. Four sons. Amos, Sam, Otis and Will and one daughter, Lydia, preceded
her in death.
The survivors are five sons, Dan Borgstadt, John Borgstadt, Henry Borgstadt and Louis Borgstadt of Muscatine, Joe Borgstadt of Nichols and two daughters, Mrs. J. A. Hyink of Des Moines and Mrs. C. R. Kennedy with whom she had made her home. A sister, Mrs. Scowel of Sedalia, Mo., a brother, J. A, Kresse of Concordia, Mo., 18 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren also survive.
The body was removed to the home this morning. Funeral services will be conducted from the home at 2 o'clock Monday afternoon and from the First Baptist church at 2:30. The Rev. Vernon Shontz, pastor, will be in charge. Burial will be in the Nichols cemetery. The Wittich Funeral home is in charge of arrangements.
