Former W. Liberty Dies at Local Hospital Wednesday

WEST LIBERTY — Donald Charles Smith, 10, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Smith, near Muscatine, formerly of this place, died at 10:15 o'clock Wednesday morning at the Children’s hospital at Iowa City, where he had been a patient two days, ill of pneumonia. For the last two years he had been ill of a heart ailment.
He was born March 18, 1928, at Highland, Ind. The family moved to this community about six years ago and made their home in this vicinity since then. He was a member of the Advent church of Muscatine.
Besides his parents he is survived by three sisters, Mrs. Eileen Layman, Hebron, Ind., Charlyne and Bonnie, at home; three brothers, Carroll, Billy, Charles, at home, and his grandmother, Mrs. Ida Smith, West Liberty. Burial will be made in Oak Ridge cemetery.
