MUSCATINE, Iowa -- Dorothy L. Rahlf, 98, of Muscatine died on Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2001, at Unity Hospital.

Service at the Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Funeral Home. The Rev. Paul Nelson will officiate. Burial will be at Muscatine Memorial Park Cemetery.

A memorial has been established for Ziegler Memorial Lutheran Church.

Mrs. Rahlf was born on March 27, 1903, in Muscatine, the daughter of DeWitt C. and Martha M. Denham Berntheisel. She married Henry Rahlf on Aug. 22, 1923, in Muscatine. He preceded her in death in 1971.

She was a member of Ziegler Memorial Lutheran Church, Order of the Eastern Star, White Shrine, Muscatine Garden Club and was a 4-H Honorary Member.

She loved her family and friends. She enjoyed working in her flower gardens, and playing Skip Bo. She helped her husband on the family farm.

Survivors include a son, Henry Rahlf and his wife, Phyllis, of Muscatine; two daughters, Gloria Barnhart and her husband, Weldon, of Muscatine and Margaret Boldt of Huntsville, Ala.; five grandchildren, Alexis Smith, Clifton Barnhart, Leslie Pickett, Michelle Long and Steven Rahlf; four great-grandchildren, Spencer Pickett, Travis Parent, Andrea Reimers and Danielle Reimers.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a grandson, Wayne Henry Rahlf; four sisters; and a son-in-law, Richard Boldt.
