William Davis
ATALISSA -- William E. Davis, 53, of Atalissa, died early today in Veterans Hospital in Iowa City after a long illness.

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Snider Funeral Home in West Liberty. Burial will be in Overman Cemetery in Atalissa. Friends may call beginning Sunday evening at the funeral home.

Mr. Davis was born May 5, 1915, in Hardy, Ark. to Albert and Ollie Roark Davis. He married Jewell Cox on Dec 3. 1942, in Jonesboro, Ark. He was employed in maintenance for the Rock Island Railroad. He was a veteran of World War II and a member of the West Liberty American Legion.

Surviving are his widow; a daughter, Earldean at home; five brothers, James, Everett, Leonard and T.C., all of Arkansas, and Leo of Pekin, Ill., and several nieces and nephews.
