ALEDO - Madeline M. Whiteside, 94, of Aledo, died Monday Dec. 27, 1999, at the Mercer County Hospital in Aledo.

Services will be at the Fippinger Funeral Home in Aledo, Ill. The Rev. Claude Moreland will officiate. Burial will be at the Aledo cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Mercer County Historical Society or the Mercer County Hospital Extended Care Unit.

She was born July 5, 1905, in Joy, Ill., the daughter of James A. and Bertha Grosjean Powers. She married Warren B. Graham Oct. 27, 1926, in Aledo. He died Aug. 20, 1996. She graduated from Aledo High School. She worked as a bookkeeper for the Virgil Anderson Motor Company in Aledo retiring in 1990. She was a lifetime member of the Mercer County Historical Society and a 50 year member of the Aledo OES Chapter No. 126. Other memberships include the Aledo United Methodist Church, Oakview Country Club, DAR, Cameo Club, and the Mercer County VFW Post 1571 Auxiliary. She enjoyed playing Bridge.

Survivors include a daughter Cheryl McCaw of Aledo; a son, Don Graham of Lake Oswego, Ore.; two grandchildren, Michael McCaw of Taylor Ridge; Charles McCaw of Aledo; two great grandchildren, Michelle McCaw; a student at SIU; Phil McCaw of Taylor Ridge; a nephew Gary Anderson of Aledo and a niece Barbara Andrews of Littleton, Colo. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Genevieve Anderson.
