Zona L. Altenbernd, 93, Muscatine, died Monday, Sept. 4, 2006, at Lutheran Homes.

Burial will be at Muscatine Memorial Park Cemetery.
Services: Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home, 1931 Houser.

Memorials may be made to Bloomington-Muscatine Friends Church or Lutheran Homes.

She was born July 16, 1913, in Muscatine, the daughter of Joe and Rhoda Concannon Washburn. She married Webster Altenbernd on March 14, 1941, in Muscatine. He preceded her in death in 1971.

She retired from Muscatine General Hospital.

She was a member of Bloomington-Muscatine Friends Church and BPW.

She liked to play cards, travel and enjoyed being with her nieces and nephews.

Survivors include several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, four brothers and four sisters.
