DURANT - Bernice O. Gilbert, 85, of Davenport, died Wednesday, Nov. 17, 1999, at Genesis Medical Center East in Davenport. Services will be at Bentley Funeral Home in Durant. The Rev. David Lawson will officiate. Organist will be Deb Mohr and vocalist will be Henry Bentley. Pallbearers will be Leo Hein, Delmar Gilbert, Darryl Gilbert, Keith Meyer, Bill Meyer, and Ronnie Ralfs. Burial will be at the Durant Cemetery in Durant. She was born on Jan. 22, 1914, in Muscatine, the daughter of Charles and Theresa Bailey . She married Emil B. Gilbert on Jan. 7, 1930, in Davenport. She loved to play Bingo and cards, however her greatest joy was her grandchildren. Survivors include three daughters, Janice Ralfs and her husband, Alan, of Stockton, Marlene Westphal and her husband, Robert, of Davenport, and Donna Ramirez and her husband, Arthur, of Wilton; a son, Kenneth Gilbert and his wife, Mary, of Davenport; three sisters, Corrine Tertipes and her husband, Louis, of Moline, Ill., Shirley Cocquit and her husband, Henry, of of Geneseo, Ill., Beverly Bartel and her husband, Leo, of Branson, Mo.; two brothers, Kermit Bailey of Waukegan, Ill. and Virgil Bailey of Colona, Ill.; 10 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; five great great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Dorothy Moeller; a brother, Walter Bailey; and two grandchildren, Debbie Westphal and Brian Ralfs.
