JANICE MARTZ

MUSCATINE, Iowa - Janice I. Martz, 70, of Muscatine, died Wednesday, February 25, 2009, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City.

A private Funeral Service will be held. Casket bearers will be her grandchildren, Derrik Martz, Darrin Martz, Chad Martz, Chelsea Martz, Jake Theobald, and Emily Buster. A private burial will be held in Memorial Park Cemetery.

There will be no visitation. The Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Memorials may be made to Zion Lutheran Church.

Janice was born on July 21, 1938, in Letts, the daughter of Clinton L. and Mary E. Brookhart Hafner. She was united in marriage to Robert L. Martz on June 9, 1957, in Letts, at her parents’ home.

She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church.

She enjoyed crafts of all kinds, especially quilts, rugs, and ceramics.

Survivors include her husband, Robert L. Martz Sr. of Muscatine; two sons, Robert Lee Martz Jr. and wife, Windy Clark, of Kirksville, and John C. Martz and wife, Tracy, of Muscatine; one daughter, Rhonda K. Theobald and husband, Gary, of Muscatine; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Chester Hafner and wife, Pat, of Letts, and Gary Hafner of Letts.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one son, Kevin, in infancy.
