MUSCATINE, Iowa - Arthur J. Libenguth, 67, of Muscatine died Oct. 10, 2001, at Unity Hospital.

Services are at the Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Funeral Home. The Revs. Suz McIver and Bill Keller will officiate. Musical selections will be provided by Phyllis Jones, organist and Judy Rohwedder, vocalist. Burial will be at Muscatine Memorial Park Cemetery with full military rites conducted by VFW Post 1545 and American Legion Post 27.

Visitation is Friday at the funeral home. Memorials have been established for the United Mitochondrial Disease Foundation and First Christian Church.

Mr. Libenguth was born Oct. 18, 1933, the son of Frank H. and Clara M. Kucera Libenguth. He married Evelyn ''Babe'' McBride Beinke Nov. 27, 1964, in Muscatine.

In January 1951 he enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corp., where he served as staff sergeant during the Korean War until January 1955.

He worked at Hetzler Dairy in Muscatine 1957-1972. He then worked at Canteen Corp., retiring in 1995.

He was a member of First Christian Church, the Muscatine Moose Lodge and the American Legion Post 27.

He just celebrated his 50th high school reunion from St. Mary's High School in Riverside. He enjoyed square dancing, playing cards, and dominoes with his friends in Iowa and Arizona. He was a devoted husband and loved his family.

Survivors include his wife, Babe of Muscatine; children, Mike Beinke and wife Jan of Muscatine, Sherri Beinke-Holten and husband Carl of Cedar Rapids, Becky Resch and husband Richard of Rock Island, Ill., Kimberly Libenguth of San Diego, Calif., and Jed Figg of San Diego; eight grandchildren, Joshua Beinke, Zachary Beinke, Jessica Mohnsen, Megan Mohnsen, Bethany Holten, Steven Resch, Jordan Figg, and Ian Arthur Figg; a great-granddaughter, Maliyah Mohnsen; two brothers, Robert Libenguth of Riverside and Louis Libenguth and wife Sandy of Iowa City; a sister, Lorraine Lintz and husband Mark of Davenport; four nephews; and many close friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and a granddaughter, Morgan Elizabeth Resch.
