CLIFFORD SPITZNOGLE

Clifford Jacob Spitznogle, 77, of 2007 Breese Avenue, died Friday, April 15, 1994 at University Hospitals in Iowa City following a brief illness.

Funeral services will be at 10 am Thursday, at the Riley Funeral Home with the Rev. Hal Pearson officiating. Interment will follow at the Miller Cemetery in Eliza Township, Rock Island County, Ill. There will be no visitation.

Mr. Spitznogle was born May 18, 1916, in Muscatine. He married Geraldine Shannon on Dec. 21, 1935, in Muscatine. She preceded him in death. He later married Maxine Kilburn Marshall on July 5, 1968, in Aledo, Ill.

He was an avid fisherman and loved his garden.

Survivors include his wife, Maxine; one son, Clifford D. and his wife, Sarah Spitznogle of Wapello, Iowa; two daughters, Mrs. Raymond (Hilda) Richter of Stockton; Mrs. Burns (Ida Dunker) NcNeil of Wapello; three stepsons, Alan and his wife, Mary Lou Kilburn, Wayne and his wife, Barb Kilburn, and Ed Kilburn, all of Muscatine; one stepdaughter, Mrs. Wade (Betty) Ashby of Grandview; four grandchildren, Raymond C. Richter of Stockton, Mrs. Pat (Heidi) Blankenship of Canyon, Texas, Ron Dunker Jr. and his wife, Jennifer of Columbus Junction, and Mark Leo Spitznogle of Wapello; four great grandchildren, Tammy Roach of Washington, Nathaniel and Joseph Richter, both of Durant, and Catlyn Blankenship of Canyon; 11 step-great grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Robert (Lydia) Hagy of Muscatine.

In addition to his first wife, he was also preceded in death by his parents, several brothers and sisters, one grandson and one grand-daughter.
