Mrs. S. L. (Violet) Bloomhuff 69, Rt. 4, Muscatine died early this morning at the Americana Extended Care Facility, Davenport, following an extended illness.

Services will be held Monday at the Riley Funeral Home, Rev. James Leonard , Pastor of the Mulford Evangelical Free Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Violet Bloomhuff was born Nov. 15, 1906 in Muscatine, the daughter of Rufus and Cora Van Winkle Ricketts. She was a life resident of this area.

On March 3, 1927, she married Samuel L. Bloomhuff in Rock Island.

Survivors include her husband; two sons, Sherman of Muscatine and Samuel A. of San Diego, Calif.; one daughter Mrs. John "Yvonna" Ernst, Muscatine; eight granddaughter; one great granddaughter; three brothers, Ernest and Peter both of Buffalo, and Fred of Davenport; and one sister, Mrs. Eva Winters, Davenport.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and one sister.
