MRS. PRUDENCE KING

Mrs. Prudence King

Mrs. Prudence King, a resident of this city for the last 40 years, died at Bellevue hospital at 3:30 o'clock this morning, after an operation which she underwent about five weeks ago. She had been at the hospital for the last six weeks. She was 71 years of age.

Prudence Ellis was born in Louisa county, July 16, 1849, and resided in this state during her entire life. Forty-one years ago she was married to Philip King, and the next year they moved to this city. Her husband preceded her in death by three years.

To survive, she leaves one daughter, Mrs. T.H. Gottbrecht, of this city; five sons, John White and Will King of this city, Harry King of Rock Island, George King of Burlington, and Fred King of Davenport; one sister, Mrs. F.H. Smith of near Wapello.

The body was taken to the home at 410 Wisconsin street. Funeral services will be held from the Musserville Methodist church at 2 o'clock Sunday afternoon. Dr. C.L. Stafford will officiate. Burial will be made in Greenwood cemetery.

Mrs. Prudence King

Funeral services for Mrs. Prudence King, a resident of Muscatine for the last forty years, who died Friday at her home, 410 Wisconsin street, were held from the Musserville Methodist church at 2 o'clock Sunday afternoon. The Rev. C. L. Stafford officiated. Burial was made in Greenwood cemetery.

Six nephews of the deceased were pallbearers. They are Archie, Edmond and Clifford King, Herndon Schriner, Clarence King of Oakville, and Floyd King of Grandview.
