SERVICES: 11 am Tuesday, May 17, Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Funeral Home for Funeral and Cremation Services, 2907 Mulberry Avenue
VISITATION: 4-7 pm today, funeral home.

Fruitland, Iowa - Robert Ryan, 56, Fruitland, died Friday, May 13, 2005, at the Veterans Hospital, Minneapolis, Minn.

The Rev. John Gallagher will officiate the services. Casket bearers are Bob Thomas, Mike Botts, Dennis Miller, Kirk Franklin and Jeff Meyerholz. Burial will be at 3:45 pm Tuesday, at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Bellevue, with full military rites. After the services, a time of food and fellowship will be held in the Community Room at the funeral home.

Mr. Ryan was born March 22, 1949, in Muscatine, the son of Ralph and Shirley Slattery Ryan. He married Linda Bormann June 21, 1984, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Muscatine.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army who served during the Vietnam War.

He was employed at the HON Geneva Plant. He enjoyed fishing, taking care of his dogs, Sweetpea, Sissy and Rocky. He also enjoyed gardening.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Tammy and Kimberly; his parents, Ralph and Shirley Ryan; a brother, Ronald Ryan and wife Roberta of Muscatine; three sisters, Charlotte Lake and husband Ron of Fruitland, Elizabeth Cox and husband Casey of New Boston, Ill., and Hilma Warnstaff and husband Carl of Muscatine; and several grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Rueben.
