SERVICES: 10 am, Thursday, May 19, Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services, 2907 Mulberry Avenue
VISITATION: 4-6 pm, Wednesday, May 18, funeral home.

Muscatine, Iowa - Nellie M. Crieger, 81, Muscatine, died Saturday, May 14, 2005, at Genesis Medical Center, Davenport.

The Rev. Kimberly Bowles will officiate the services. Casket bearers are Terry Wallarab, Brian Wallarab, Kirk Wallarab, Shannon Slutts, Nathan Jarrett, and Melvin Hazelwood.

Honorary casket bearers are Joe Brauns, Jim Richmiller and Chris Richardson. Burial will be at Harrison Cemetery in Louisa County.

Memorial may be directed to Lutheran Homes. Online condolences may be left for the Crieger family at www.lewisfuneralhomes.com.

Mrs. Creiger was born Oct. 18, 1923, in Louisa County, the daughter of William Henry and Bertha Mae Courtney Skidmore. She married Isacc V. Crieger Dec. 3, 1938, in Wapello.

She was a lifelong resident of Louisa and Muscatine counties.

She was employed by Lutheran Homes for more than 30 years. She was a member of Island United Methodist Church and enjoyed sewing and quilting.

Survivors include a son, Darrell L. Crieger and wife Georgia of Muscatine; six daughters, Elaine L. Hazelwood of Mount Vernon, Ill., Shirley Reid and husband Dell of Moline, Ill., Barbara Crieger and Geri Crieger, both of Clinton, Marsha Crieger and husband Richard Webber of Long Grove, and Denise Brown of Muscatine; 10 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; and one great grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two daughters, Karen Crieger and Hilda Brogan; three grandsons, James Crieger, Jeff Wallarab, and George Crieger; and four brothers, Clifford Skidmore, George Clodfielder, Basil Skidmore, and Edward Skidmore.
