DANIEL DUGAN

Muscatine, Iowa- Daniel J. Dugan, 65, of 1112 Westwood Lane, died Sunday, Feb. 9, 2003, at his home.

Funeral mass is 11 am Thursday at St. Mary's Church, 417 Green Street. The Revs. William Meyer and John P. Gallagher will officiate. Pallbearers are Jim Hasken, Donald Noll, John Krogstad, Jim Scheffert, Chuck Gohr and John Gohr. Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery. A luncheon wil be held at Gannon Hall after the burial.

Visitation is 3-7 pm Wednesday, with a 7 pm rosary prayer service, at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Daniel Dugan Memorial Fund.

Mr. Dugan was born August 11,1937, in Charles City, the son of Charles G. and Gertrude Meyer Dugan. He married Sandra Skillen May 23, 1959, at the Immaculate Conception Church in Charles City.

He was a member of St. Mary's Church.

He enjoyed bowling, golfing, fishing, cooking, the Hawkeyes and had a passion for reading.

He was the meat market manager at the south end Sun Mart in Muscatine and retired in 1999 from Nash Finch after 40 years.

Survivors include his wife; five sons, Michael Dugan and wife Lisa of Muscatine, Joseph Dugan and wife Tracey of Moscow, Christopher Dugan, Stephen Dugan and Matthew Dugan, all of Muscatine; seven grandchildren, Patrick, Barry, Corinna, Tara, Jenna, Kelsie and Alex: two sisters, Betty Larson and husband Cal of Charles City and Patricia Scheffert and husband Donald of Guttenberg; a sister-in-law, Phyllis Dugan of Waterloo; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, James Dugan; and a niece, Jane Dugan.
