MRS. LONGBOTHAM TAKEN BY DEATH; RITES THURSDAY

West Liberty - Mrs. Isabella Stephenson Longbotham, 82, of West Liberty, died at 3:40 pm (Davenport), where she had been a patient for the past two months. She fell a week ago and broke her hip and failed to rally.

Mrs. Longbotham was born at Ilkley, England, on July 31, 1862, the daughter of Edward and Elizabeth Stephenson. Her marriage to Thomas Longbotham took place in England in 1886 and they came to this country in 1891, settling first on a farm near West Branch and later came to the South Prairie community near here. Mr. Longbotham died in 1933 and Mrs. Longbotham had since made her home in Muscatine, Davenport and West Liberty.

Surviving are eight children, Mrs. Hannah Townsend, Massachusetts; Edward Longbotham, Hollywood, Calif.; Mrs. Elizabeth Soldner, Van Wert, O.; Mrs. Evelyn Fullerton, Muscatine; Mrs. Constance Hartz, Oakland, Calif.; Mrs. Mabel Wolf, West Liberty; Mrs. Dorothy Reynolds, Odebolt, Ia.; Mrs. Frances Dahl, Tipton; 12 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Preceding her in death were two sisters and two brothers. She was a member of the Presbyterian church.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 pm Thursday at the Schneider Funeral home here by the Rev. W.H. Smith, pastor of the Methodist church. Interment will be in Oakdale Cemetery.
