Edna Greene
Muscatine, Iowa- Edna L. Greene, 88, formerly of 113 East Fourth Streeet, died Friday, January 19, 2001, at Unity Hospital.
Services will be held at 10:30 A.M. Monday at Grace Lutheran Church, 2107 Cedar street. The Rev. Leif Pohl will officiate. Pallbearers will be David Sulzberger, Doug Chalupa, John Sparks, David Duncan, Steve Haller and Brandon Sparks. Honorary pallbearers will be her great grandchildren. Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 2 to 6 P.M. Sunday at the Ralph J. Wittich Riley Freers Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Grace Lutheran Church.
Mrs. Greene was born October 30, 1912 in Muscatine, the daughter of Francis Edgar and Catheine Ann Riegel Honts, She married Wm. Allen Greene on September 25, 1935 in Kahoka, Mo.
She was a member of the Grace Lutheran Church and taught Sunday school for many years.
She was the receptioist for Dr. K.E. Wilcox for more than 30 years, retiring in 1981.
Survivors include a daughter, Mary Chalupa and her husband Phil, of Muscatine; six grandchildren, David Sulzberger, Deborah Sulzberger, Cindy Sparks and her husband John, Stephanie Duncan and her husband David, Doug Chalupa and Maribeth Hunter; and 10 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Wm. Allen Greene, in 1944, one daughter, Janet A. Sulzberger in 1992, two brothers and two sisters.
