NORMAN SYLVESTER HINES

An illness of less than a week, resulting from bowel trouble, caused the death of Norman Sylvester Hines, aged 21, 1114 East Third street, at Hershey hospital at 8 o'clock this morning. Mr. Hines had been ill since Thursday and underwent an operation at Hershey hospital Sunday afternoon.

Mr. Hines was born in Muscatine, Jan. 11, 1903, spending his entire life here. He was employed by the Muscatine Lumber & Coal company, but formerly worked at the Maurais grocery four years.

The survivors are his father and stepmother, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Hines, the following sisters and brothers: Mrs. Myrtle Elliott and Mrs. Ethel Phillips of Muscatine, Harry Hines of Davenport, Mrs. Velma Potter of Illinois City, Clarence Hines of Muscatine, Miss Lozetta Hines, at home, and two step-brothers, Joseph and Willard Hillier of Davenport. His mother died in 1916.

Funeral services will be held from the home at 1:30 Thursday and at 2 o'clock from the First Presbyterian churvh, with the Rev. J. B. Rendall, pastor, in charge. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
