ILLNESS FATAL TO JOHN DAUFELDT, 77

Wilton - John Daufeldt, 77, a resident of Cedar county for more than 40 years, died at his home eight miles north west of here at 7:25 pm Wednesday after an illness of about a week following a paralytic stroke.

Mr. Daufeldt was born at Reinberg, Germany, Dec. 27, 1857 and spent his early life there being raised in the Lutheran faith. He came to America when 24 years of age, settling in Davenport and on April 16, 1882 was married to Miss Louise Ingzerson.

They later moved to Cedar county, and except for a few years spent in Wilton, Mr. Daufeldt spent the remainder of his life on a farm there.

Besides the widow, survivors are five sons, John, Charles, Martin and Edward, all of the Wilton community, and Emil of Davenport; and 23 grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at the Trinity Reformed church in Cedar county with burial in the cemetery in Moscow.
