CHRISTOPHER LOVING PASSES AWAY TODAY

DIED SHORTLY AFTER MIDNIGHT THIS MORNING

Had Been a Resident of City for 15 Years Leaves Many Friends to Mourn Death

Shortly after midnight this morning occurred the death of Christopher Loving at his home at 1423 Park Avenue. Death came as the result of an extended illness of asthma and heart disease, with which Mr. Loving was afflicted since Christmas. His demise was unexpected, however, as he seemed to be improving and was able to be up the greater part of Sunday.

He was born February 20, 1847, near St. Louis, Mo. He lived there until fifteen years ago when he removed to Muscatine where he resided continuously since then. He served in a St. Louis company during the Civil War and was a member of the G.A.R. He followed the trade of carpenter during the greater part of his life. In November, 1900 he was united in marriage to Miss Catherine Lange of this city. He was a member of the Methodist Episcopal church from his early boyhood.

He is survived by his widow, one sister, Mrs. Caroline Glasgow, of Keokuk, six brothers, James of Davenport, William, of Stockport, Iowa, George, of Sutton, Nebraska, Albert and Robert of Keokuk, and Eli of Jefferson county, Iowa.

Mr. Loving was well-known about the city and leave a host of friends to mourn his heath. No definite funeral arrangements have been made as yet but it is expected that it will held from the home Wednesday afternoon. Dr. L.M. Grigsby will have charge of the services.
