BILL HONTS

MUSCATINE - Bill L. Honts, 44, of 213 Cook St., died Saturday, Oct. 3, 1998, at his home, following a two year battle with cancer.

Services will be a 1:30 pm Thursday at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home. The Rev. Edward Meyer will officiate. Pallbearers will be Mike Baxter, Wayne Ryder, Dave Kerr, Pete Dieckman, Robert Moore and Craig Bartheld. Jeff Selyars, Ron Goodwin, Tom Kelly and Douglas Bunn Sr. will serve a honorary pallbearers. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4-8 pm Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Bill Honts Memorial Fund.

He was born Nov. 5, 1953, in Muscatine, the son of Daniel J. and Lena V. Yedlik Honts.

He was a member of the Muscatine Rescue Unit. He was a self-employed underwater scuba diver for 15 years. He also worked in the family business, Danny's Sales and Service from his youth until four years ago.

Survivors include his fiance, Jane Kemper, of Muscatine; two sons, Mike and Jeremy Honts, both of Muscatine; one daughter, Betty Sue Honts, of Muscatine; three grandchildren, Dakota, Brieann, and Cortne Honts; one brother, Steve Honts, of Muscatine; two sisters, Violet Reiter of St. Petersburg, Fla., and Janet Forbes of Muscatine.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.
