EDETTA HONTS

MUSCTINE - Edetta J. Honts, 80, formerly of Muscatine, died Thursday, Oct. 26, 1995, in Jasper, Mo., where she had resided for the past year.

Graveside services will be at 11 am Monday at the Muscatine Memorial Park Cemetery with Rev. Cyril McKay officiating.

The former Edetta J. Gerth was born July 29, 1915, at Gann Valley, S.D., the daughter of Ted and Clara Huckins Gerth.

She had been employed as a waitress, working in several Muscatine area restaurants.

She is survived by four sons, Donald Schmelzer of Warrenville, Ill., Gerald Schmelzer of Little Rock, Ark., and Michael Honts and David Dean Honts, both of Belton, Texas; three daughters, Carol Ann Miller and Linda Joy Fry, both of Muscatine; and Mrs. Jerry (Susan Kay) Ogle, of Jasper; 24 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Helen Rhodes of Muscatine, and Mrs. Lloyd (Lola) Dotsun of Geneseo, Ill.

She was preceded in death by two sons, Rob Wessels and John Honts, one brother, one sister, and two grandchildren.
