RAYMOND HONTS

KAHOKA, MO. - Raymond Leroy Honts, 64, of rural Memphis Mo., formerly of Davenport, died Tuesday at the home of Richard Burlingame, also of rural Memphis.

Services were at 1:30 pm today at the Shaffer and Sons Memorial Chapel in Kahoka. The Rev. Beryl Cragg officiated. Burial with military rites, will be at 2 pm Friday at the Rock Island National Cemetery in Rock Island with the Rev. Jack Talmage officiating.

Mr. Honts was born Dec. 6, 1925 in Muscatine, a son of Walter and Mary Phelps Honts. He married Genevieve Knapp who died in January of 1987.

He was a member of the Grace Methodist Church in Davenport and Elks Lodge No. 304 in Muscatine.

He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and had retired from employment at the Rock Island Arsenal.

Survivors include his mother, Mary Huschild, of Davenport; two brothers, Daniel and Robert Honts, both of Muscatine; and one sister, Darlene Burlingame of Kahoka; and several nieces and nephews.

His father also precedes him in death.
