G.W. HONTS

G.W. Honts, 50, was found dead in bed at his home, 107 West Seventh street, at 5 o'clock yesterday afternoon. Although he had been troubled with his heart for five or six years, for the past two weeks he had seemed in good health and had taken care of his work. He had been as well as usual when his wife left him alone at the home yesterday afternoon, but when she returned at 5 o'clock he was lying dead in bed.

Mr. Honts was born in Louisa county, March 2, 1876. At the age of 18 he moved to Conesville, where he remained until four years ago, moving to Muscatine at that time. He married Miss Lottie Baker, Sept. 16, 1896. His early life was spent farming, but he has been engaged in the real estate business for many years. He was a member of the Modern Woodmen of America and the Grace Reformed church at Conesville.

Beside the widow he leave two daughters, Mrs. Ernest Chown of Lone Tree and Mrs. Verne Folkers of Conesville; one son, Guy of Muscatine; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. J.E. Honts of Muscatine; one sister, Mrs. Jean Metzger of Winfield, Ia., and five brothers, Albert of Yellow Lake, Wis., and Frank, Jesse, Robert and David of Muscatine.

Funeral arrangements, which will be in charge of the Meyers Funeral Home, have not yet been made. The body will remain at the home.
