Muscatine Man Has Narrow Escape
Much Storm DamageSpecial to the Times-Republican
Muscatine, June 27-Awakening to find the floor of the room in which he slept a carpet of flames, Ed Wagle, residing on a farm just north of Muscatine, was painfully burned in making his escape from the dwelling early today. Lightning struck the house, setting it on fire and stunning its sole inmate.During the present week Muscatine has been swept nightly by wind and electrical storms, and a summary of results show eleven buildings struck by lightning, eight farm structures demolished by wind and heavy property loss thru Tuesday’s cloudburst.
