I was told by one of the veterans in Grant that it was reported to the sheriff. No damage but definitely tracks of a vehicle used to load it. It was government property. There were rumors but the culprits were never caught. Exactly what year it was stolen isn't known for sure but not too many.

I grew up in the Grant area and attended every Memorial Day for more years than I care to remember. My parents never missed and I have kept up the tradition. The cannon was always there so I feel like a part of my childhood and since then, was stolen also. I'm afraid it is gone forever.
