"Funeral services for Clifford M. Unger, 83, Red Oak resident since 1927, will be Tuesday, Dec 14, at 2 p.m. at Nelson Chapel with the Rev. Gayle Strickler officiating and burial in Evergreen Cemetery.

A retired employee of the State of Iowa, Mr. Unger died Sunday, Dec. 12, at Highland Acres after an extended illness.

The son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Unger, he was born Jan. 1, 1888 at La Porte City and was married in 1909 to Ruby Hayzlett, who died in 1968. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Randolph (Jack) Stevens of Auburn, Washi., and Barbara Unger, Red Oak; son, Richard, Ames' nine grandchildren and nine great grandchildren; brother, Harold S., Laporte City; sister, R. T. Paige, La Porte City. Mr. Unger was a member of First Congregational church and the family has suggested memorials for the church."
