Services Friday for Aged Stanton Woman; Mrs. Ingrid Velander, 75, Succumbed Wednesday After An Illness of Six Months; Was Born in Sweden
Stanton, July 6 – Mrs. Ingrid Velander died Wednesday, June 28, at her home near Stanton, after illness of six months from cancer. Funeral services were held Friday, June 30, at 2:30 p.m. from the Lutheran church, of which deceased was a member, conducted by Rev. E. D. Strandberg, pastor of the Mission church. Pallbearers were Emil Sundberg, Carl Malmquist, Aug. Requist, Bernard Peterson, Elmer Oakleaf and Merrill Peterson. Burial was in Mamre cemetery. Mrs. Velander was born in Sweden Oct. 29, 1857, and was married there June 24, 1879, to S. G. Velander. Mr. Velander died in 1924. Surviving are two sons, Julius and Iver Velander of Stanton; also a brother, N. J. Julin, Wayne, Neb., and five grandchildren. One son is deceased. Mr. and Mrs. Velander came here from Sweden in 1881, and had since lived in Stanton.
