Stanton Services for Edward Weseen, 88
Stanton – Funeral services for Edward Weseen, 88, lifetime resident of the Stanton community and retired farmer and drayman, were held Tuesday, Jan 7, at Mamrelund Lutheran Church here. He died Saturday, Jan 4, at Iowa City after a lengthy illness. The Rev. Francis W. Johnson officiated at the services and burial was in Mamre cemetery here with arrangements in charge of the Sellergren Funeral Home. The son of Mr. and Mrs. Swan Weseen, he was born Sept. 18, 1875, and was married in 1905 to Delia Bergren. In 1909 he was married to Selma Anderson, who died in 1957. He was a member of the Mamrelund Lutheran church here. Surviving are four daughters, Eunice of Stanton, Mrs. Lawrence Lewis of Stanton, Mrs. Donald Bates of Elliott and Alice of Omaha, eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren, three sisters, Julia of Sioux City, Ino of New Braunfels, Tex, and Mrs. Nels Lundahl of Wakefield, Neb., one brother, Arthur Weseen, Wakefield, Neb.
