Isaac Newell Found DEAD in Basement Apartment
Isaac Newell, about 80 years old, and a retired farmer was found dead early Wednesday in his basement apartment at the Liljequist house which he had recently purchased for a home. Discovery of his death was made by Julius Reed who called Charles Schantz to verify his belief that the man had died Dr. Robert Fenstermacher was called to make an examination and it was his belief Mr. Newell had been dead since Tuesday morning. He had been down town early Tuesday.
The body was taken to a Red Oak funeral home pending funeral arrangements. Unmarried, Mr. Newell has no known relatives in this community. A few years ago he retired from his farm in the east part of the county and bought the residence property on west hill which he had recently vacated after selling it to Charles Eklof of Red Oak. Julius Reed who planned to move into the upstairs portion of the Liljequist property soon had gone there to look things over before moving.
