Rosetta Fisher Is Buried At Arlington.

Funeral services for Amanda Rosetta Fisher were held last Wednesday, June 8, 1966 at 1:30 p.m. from the Wolfe Funeral Home with the Rev. Alston B. Hall officiating. The soloist was Mrs. Carolyn Harris, with Mrs. Frances Gray, organist, accompanying here in the following selections, “Beautiful Isle of Somewhere” and “In the Garden.”

Casketbearers included Wilbur Newberg, Ray Newberg, Mahlon Newberg, Robert Wallace, George Wallace and Paul Kuhn. Interment was in the Arlington Cemetery.

Amanda Rosetta Fisher, daughter of Elizabeth and Ames William Lynes, was born October 15, 1869, in Story County, Iowa, and passed away June 5, 1966, in Villisca, Iowa, at the age of 96 years, 8 months and 21 days.

She was united in marriage to Willard J. Thurber on October 15, 1888, in Custer County, Nebraska, and to this union were born ten children; seven of whom survive: Jesse W. Thurber of Kensett, Arkansas; Edna M. Wooten of Clarinda, Iowa; Luther A. Thurber of Unionville, Missouri; Lillian L. Larson of Villisca, Iowa; James G. Thurber and Eugene F. Thurber of Geneva, Nebraska.

In the fall of 1937 she was married to Vernon Fisher. She was preceded in death by two sons and one daughter and leaves in addition to her seven children, twenty-two grandchildren, sixty-six great grandchildren and thirty great grandchildren. She also leaves two brothers, Ravilla of Enid, Oklahoma and Elmer, of Vici, Oklahoma.
