LeRoy Viner, 68, of Malvern, died Oct. 26, 2004, at the Montgomery County Memorial Hospital in Red Oak after a sudden illness. Funeral services were held Nov. 1 at the Malvern United Methodist Church.
Steve McKinney officiated the services. Burial was at the Emerson Cemetery.
Mr. Viner was the son of Merwin and Hazel (Vannausdle) Viner, born Jan. 6, 1936, in Wales. He was raised in Montgomery County and graduated from the Emerson High School in 1954. He farmed for a short time and was united in maniage to Phyllis Nelson on Oct. 7, 1956, at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. They moved to Malvern in 1959 and opened the Malvern Body Shop. Mr. Viner was a member of the Malvern United Methodist Church, the Antique Auto Club of America, the Vintage Chevrolet Club of America, a former member of the Iowa Auto Recyclers and a former member of the Malvern City Council.
Mt Viner was preceded in death by his parents and father-in-law Arleigh Nelson. He is survived by wife Phyllis Viner of Malvern; daughters Gina Klindt and husband Rod of Glenwood and Teri Speck of Bellevue, Neb.; grandchildren Brad and Dustin Klindt of Glenwood and Erin, Tyler and Emily Speck of Bellevue; sister Deanna Viner of Red Oak; mother-in-law Grace Nelson of Omaha, Neb.; sister-in-law Pat Keyport of Omaha; brother-in-law Cork Nelson and wife Pat of Cody, Wyo.; many nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends.
Memorials are suggested to the Malvern Rescue Unit. Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel in Red Oak was in charge of arrangements.
