Stanton, February 11—

Funeral services were held Tuesday at 1:30 p. m. at the Lutheran Church for Miss Bessie Peterson, pioneer resident of Montgomery County, who died Saturday at the home of her sister, Mrs. T. K. Wray, in Maryville, Missouri. Death followed a week after a paralytic stroke.

Services were conducted by Rev. A. Leonard Smith of the Lutheran church, of which deceased was a member. Pallbearers were F. O. Malmberg, Eden Anderson, Fred Peterson, C. V. Blade, Otto Malmberg and Merrill Olson. Burial was in Mamrelund cemetery. Mr. and Mrs. T. K. Wray, of Maryville, Missouri, attended from out-of-town.

Miss Peterson was born Christmas day, 1861, in Sweden, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Peterson. She came to America in 1870 with her parents, who settled in Illinois and moved to Stanton in 1879, living there continuously except for several years in Denver, Colorado, and the past two years in Maryville, Missouri.

Surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Wray and Mrs. Ellen Kline, the latter of Madrid, Iowa, and a brother, John Peterson, of Stanton, Iowa.
