Ina Elnora Winters, 80, Council Bluffs, died March 22, 2015 at Clarkson Hospital in Omaha.

Ina Winters, the daughter of Lane and Ina ( Grammar ) Winters Morse, was born Dec. 19, 1934 in Hastings. Ina attended school in the Emerson/Glenwood areas.

On Nov. 16, 1952, she married the love of her life, Duane ( Sam ) Winters. They lived in the Emerson area until they moved to Oakland in 1965. Ina's final years were spent living in Council Bluffs with her childen.

Ina was a member of the Oakland Christian Church and Pythian Sisters. She was also an advocate for the Iowa and Nebraska Kidney Foundations, focusing on kidney disease,dialysis and transplant awareness. Ina was very active in the lives of her children and grandchilden,even through her two kidney transplant and dialysis. Ina loved to bake bread and was a very famous at potlucks for her chicken and noodles.

Ina's smile was unwavering and infectious. She would light up a room. Ina was known for her unconditional love and acceptance, honesty, patience, integrity, and humor, along with her strong will. Ina's great gift for hospitality was evident in her love of hosting family " get-togethers".

Ina was preceded in death by her husband, Sam, her parents, one brother, three sisters, and two grandchilden.

Ina is survived by her four children, Cheri and Robert Tye, Council Bluffs, Pam and Kenton Bates, Council Bluffs, Greg Winters and Betty Novotny, Omaha, Steve and Cindy Winters, Omaha, fifteen grandchildren, twenty-three great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild. She is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Ina adopted many by love and considered herself an " extra mom and grandma" to many. She will be missed by all who knew her.

Graveside services were Saturday,March 28, 2015, at the North Grove Cemetery just outside of Hastings.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the family for charrable causes to be determined at a later date.
