Charles Laverne Misner, 74, Griswold, formerly of Atlantic, died Monday, December 31, 2007 at the Griswold Care Center, where he had been a resident for the last two years. Cremation has taken place ane no public memorial services are plannned. Private family burial will take place at a later date. Duhn Funeral Home of Griswold is assisting the Misner family with their arrangements.

He was born Aug. 23, 1933, in Marne to Charles Montreile and Ada ( Moline ) Misner. He attended rural schools near Marne and later received his GED. He was married to Betty L. Schmitt and they later divorced. He worked as a farm hand and then became a construction worker, retiring from Henningsen Construction in 1995, where he worked as a heavy equipment operator. He was a member of the Eagles Lodge in Atlantic.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and a grandson, Joshuah Adam Misner.

Survivors include his children, Deb Thomas and her husband, Rick of Atlantic, Jim Misner of Atlantic, Diana Anderson and her husband, Chuck of Griswold, Jon Misner of Columbus, Neb, Donna Haler of Atlantic and Charles T. Misner and his wife Deb of Griswold, 17 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
