Samuel L. Linn Dies at Farm Home

FUNERAL LAST SATURDAY

The death of Samuel L. Linn, 83, occurred at his farm home in Frankfort township Thursday, April 6, after a paralytic stroke suffered four days before. Funeral services were held Saturday, April 8, at 2 p.m. from the home and from the Mission Covenant church in Stanton at 2:30 p. m., in charge of the Perryman service, and with Rev. Otto Nelson officiating. Pallbearers were nephews of the deceased as follows: Gordon Hogberg, Paul Hogberg, Harry Olson, Martin Olson, Eric Olson, and Clarence Linn of Essex. Music at the home was by Rev. Nelson, soloist, and at the church a male quartet—Russell Bergstrom, Glendon Johnson, Clifford Palmquist and Bert Palmquist, sang, with Mrs. Clifford Palmquist at the piano. In charge of the flowers were Mr. and Mrs. A.W. Urn and Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Anderson. Interment was in the Mission cemetery northeast of Stanton.

Deceased was born in Jonskopping Lan, Sweden, December 14, 1860, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Jonas Linn, and came from Sweden when three years old and lived at Linn Center, Illinois, until 1869, when they came to Page county, where they lived near Bethesda. He was married at Nyman, June 24, 1896, to Matilda Christine Hogberg. They moved to the farm near Stanton in 1907 and this had been their home ever since. Mrs. Linn died there June 4, 1943. Survivors are sons and daughters as follows: Carrie, Nannie, David and Elin Linn, all at home, Ernest Linn in Red Oak, Elmer in Elliott, and Pfc. Vincent Linn at Anzio Beachead, in Italy. A brother, Frank, lives at Essex, and a sister, Mrs. Edna Lundstedt, at Guide Rock, Neb. A son, Reuben, died in Omaha September 20, 1941. Mr. Linn was a member of the Mission Covenant church in Stanton.
