FORMER CITIZEN DIES

It was with no little amount of regret that the many friends and old neighbors heard of the sudden death of Job S. Wilson of Winterset, IA, but formerly a resident of this vicinity (Montgomery Co., IA). The remains were brought here and the funeral was held at the Lowman Church Monday afternoon. Interment was made in Lowman Cemetery. "The Graphic" joins the wide circle of friends in extending our sympathy to the sorrowing family at this time. Following is the obituary as read at the funeral service.
Job Scott Wilson, son of Alexander and Carolyne Wilson, was born at Wheeling, WV, Feb. 25, 1852 and departed from this life Dec. 4, 1925 at his home near Winterset, IA at the age of 73 years, 9 months 21 days. He was one of 7 children of which four survive him. They are William of Mt. Pleasant, Allie of New London, Jonah of Washington, and a sister Mrs. Jonah Martin of Kansas City, Kansas.
In his early life he moved with his parents to Ohio and from there to Lee Co., IA where he grew to manhood.
On Dec. 17, 1874 he was united in marriage to Pheby Foggy, to this union 5 children were born of which 3 survive him. They are Mrs. H.J. Mewhirter of Griswold, Scott Wilson of Elliott, and Mrs. Clyde Hogeland of Bloomington, NE. In 1876 he moved with his family to Montgomery Co. And in a short time settled on the farm now known as the Ben Bishop farm. In the year 1883 in June his wife passed away.
On the 21st of August 1887 he was again married to Minnie Copeland of Elliott. To this union 11 children were born of which nine survive him. They are Mrs. Luther Anderson of Red Oak, Mrs. Earl Lowman of Elliott, Mrs. Harry Laire of Red Oak, Mrs. Otto Nelson of Red Oak, Mrs. George Murrell of Clarinda, Cora, Russell, Theodore and Gordon who are at home. He spent the greater part of his life in the vicinity of Elliott until about 7 years ago he moved with his family to Madison Co., where he spent his remaining days. At the age of 46 he confessed his faith to God at the Methodist Church at Elliott. He was a kind and loving husband and father who devoted his time with his family and work. He was a good man in character and was a friend and neighbor to all who knew him.
He leaves to mourn his death besides his family a number of grandchildren and great grandchildren, a host of relatives and a wide circle of friends.
Funeral at Lowman Church, Monday, at 2 p.m. conducted by Rev. L. W. Nixon of Elliott, interment at Lowman Cemetery.

Job S. Wilson of Lincoln Twp was stricken quite suddenly on Friday afternoon, death coming in a very short time. Mr. Wilson, who was 73 yrs old, ate a hearty noon day meal and soon after going to the field to work, became sick. He returned to the house and death came shortly after. He leaves his companion and several children, 2 of whom are still in the home. The remains were taken to Elliott, Iowa for burial. Funeral services being held on Monday, Dec. 8, 1925
