Rev. Wm. Pierson dies at his home in this city last Sunday morning, July 5th, after an illness of several weeks. The funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at 1:00 o'clock from the Swedish Mission church, interment being made in Evergreen cemetery. Mr. Pierson was in his 65th year, and by all who knew him was esteemed as a citizen and Christian worker. Rev. Pierson was born in Sweden in 1839. He came to America in 1868 having settling in Illinois, and afterwards residing in Kansas and Missouri. Five weeks ago he came to Red Oak to act as pastor of the Swedish Mission congregation, and during the past two years he has been traveling missionary for the Swedish Mission association of this district. Mr. Pierson is survived by his wife and seven children.
