RED OAK - Lamont R. Wallin, 60, of Stanton died July 30 in Montgomery County, south of Stanton.

He was born Jan. 9, 1943, in Clarinda to Raymond E. and Ruth E. (Sunderman) Wallin. He was raised in Stanton and graduated from Stanton High School in 1960. He attended C.E. School of Commerce in Omaha. He served his country during the Vietnam War in the U.S. Army. He later graduated from University of Nebraska at Omaha with a degree in accounting and became a certified public accountant. He was the general manager for Kutak-Rock Law Firm in Omaha for many years. After his retirement from Kutak-Rock Law Firm he continued to farm and raise cattle and was known as "The French Farmer."

He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Council Bluffs and most recently attended Mamrelund Lutheran Church in Stanton. He was also a member of the American Legion Ernie Johnson Post No. 406 in Stanton.

Mr. Wallin was preceded in death by his father.

Survivors include three daughters, Sara, Sandra and Samantha, all of Council Bluffs; his mother, Mrs. Ruth Wallin, of Stanton; two sisters, Janet Dinville and husband, Duane, of Stanton and Jeanie Fritscher and husband, Eugene, of Stanton; a nephew, Matthew, and wife, Amy, of Grimes; a niece, Andrea, and husband, Scott, of Omaha; special friend, Marilyn Mickey, of Carson.

Visitation with the family will be tonight from 7 to 8 at Sellergren-Lindell-DeMarce Funeral Home in Red Oak. The funeral will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Mamrelund Lutheran Church in Stanton with the Rev. Eric Kutzli officiating. Burial will be in Mamre Cemetery in Stanton.

Memorials may be offered to Mamrelund Lutheran Church or Stanton Class of 1960 Scholarship Fund.
