Selma L. Benskin, 83

Services for Selma L. Benskin, 83, Stanton, were Monday at Sellergren-Lindell Funeral Home in Red Oak with Heidi McGinness officiating. Burial was in Mamre Cemetery, Stanton. She died Thursday (Nov. 2, 989) at Montgomery County Memorial Hospital in Red Oak following a lengthy illness.

Mrs. Benskin was born Oct. 6, 1906, in Page County, Iowa, to Mr. and Mrs. Gust A. Anderson. She married Chester Benskin Feb. 4, 1931, in Stanton. She lived most of her life on a farm in Montgomery County and moved to Stanton in 1966. She was a housewife. She was a member of Faith Rebekah Lodge No. 174 of Red Oak and Senior Citizens of Stanton. She also was a member of the Red Oak Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include her husband; one son, Glen Benskin of Red Oak; three granddaughters; four great-grandchildren; one brother, Elmer C. Anderson of Stanton; and two sisters, Clara Anderson of Stanton and Lillian Mercer of Red Oak. ~ The Red Oak Express, November 7, 1989, page 2A, col 3 & 4.
