Mrs. Al McGimsey, 57, Died in Red Oak Friday, Funeral Was Held Sunday

Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at the Perryman Funeral Chapel for Mrs. Alma Ruth McGimsey, 57, who died at her home in the southwest part of the city Thursday night at 11:30 o'clock. The services were in charge of Rev. Ira E. Carney of the Christian church. Serving as pallbearers were John Brummett, John Grasmick, Clarence DeWiese, and Elmer Renn. Burial was in Evergreen cemetery.

Alma Ruth Tarr was born on a farm south of Red Oak, February 9, 1876, a daughter of David and Lydia Tarr. She grew to womanhood in the vicinity and was married in Red Oak in 1900 to Howard Hoagland. She married the second time to Willis Smith in 1908. Mr. Smith died in Idaho in 1923 in an accident. In 1929 she was married at Marion, Iowa, to Al McGimsey where they lived until 1932 when they returned to Red Oak to live. Mrs. McGimsey is survived by her husband and one son, Albeert Hoagland, of Red Oak.
