Highly Respected Lady Dies

Mrs. Lydia Tarr died yesterday (Thursday) at 4:30 A.M. at the home of her son, Leo Tarr, 208 First Ave., from heart trouble. She had only been sick since Friday evening. Mrs. Tarr was born in Indiana, and was 80 years of age at the time of her death. She was married in Henry County, Iowa, to David Tarr, he having died eighteen years ago. She is survived by three children, Samuel Tarr, of Mt. Vernon, Wash., Leo Tarr, and Mrs. Addie (Allie) Smith, of Red Oak, eight children having died in infancy. She is also survived by one brother, Samuel Joy (Jay), of Ridgeway, Colo., and one sister, Mrs. Pharaby Menessee, of Wayne. Mrs. Tarr had been a resident of this county for 32 years and has lived in Red Oak for 22 years. The funeral will be held from the home Sunday afternoon at 3 o'clock, Rev. J. K. Driver, of the Presbyterian church conducting the services. Interment will be made in the Red Oak cemetery. Samual Joy (Jay), and Mrs. Etta Kinnedy, of Ridgeway. Colo., came to attend the funeral. Mrs. Tarr was a good woman and leaves many friends.
