HIRAM J. DONOHUE DIES FRIDAY.

Services held Sunday at McCormick Home.

Services for Hiram James Donohue, 84, were held at 2:30 P.M., Sunday in the McCormick Funeral Home. The Rev. Roscoe B. Sires, Methodist Church, officiated. Burial was made in the Masonic Cemetery, Tipton.
Hiram Donohue, son of William James and Mary Anne Lydia Donohue, was born at Charleston, Four Corners, Montgomery County, New York, June 10, 1860, and passed away October 20, 1944, at Mercy Hospital in Cedar Rapids.
Mr. Donohue remained in the county of his nativity until he was seven years of age, and then accompanied his parents to Cedar County, Iowa, where they established their farm on York Prairie in 1867.
He was united in marriage December 17, 1884, to Lydia Ann Stevens. To this union were born four children, Mrs. Ethel Wright of Cedar Rapids, Wilbur Donohue, Tipton, and Raymond Donohue of Winnetka, Illinois. One son, Glen, died at the age of 18 months. His wife died in March, 1939.
After Mr. Donohue moved to Tipton he was engaged for a number of years in real estate business. He joined the York Prairie Methodist Church and later transferred his membership to the Tipton Methodist Church, where he was trustee for 20 years.
Those remaining to mourn his departure are his daughter, two sons, one brother, John Donohue of Red Oak, three grandsons and one granddaughter, four great-grandchildren, besides nieces, nephews and many other relatives and friends.
