MRS. W. H. LATHROP RITES ON MONDAY
Resident of Montgomery County Many Years, Dies Friday at Home of Daughter

Funeral services were held Monday, Nov. 11, at 3 p.m. at the Presbyterian church for Mrs. W. H. Lathrop, 77, who passed away Friday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Jack Young, in Center Ridge vicinity. She had suffered only a short time paralysis being the cause of death.

Rev. Richard Chambers of the Presbyterian church was assisted in the service by Rev. William Lee, of Elliott. Singing was by Mrs. Fred Shields and Mrs. Dale Hoffman, with Dewey Barnes at the orange. Flower ladies were Mrs. Jay Stafford, Mrs. Walter R. E. Nelson and Mrs. Virgil Woods. Pallbearers were Lester Shires, Harry Selser, Harold Aiken, Glen Spragg, Willard Baird, and Jay Stafford. Burial was in Evergreen cemetery with the Perrpman service.

Susan Laura, daughter of Robert B. and Harriett Wadsworth, was born April 18, 1869, at Lawrence, Kas. She was married at Chalk Mound, Kas., on May 16, 1886, to William H. Lathrop, who preceded her in death in 1928. They lived in Kansas for a short time, then moved to near Elliott. Mrs. Lathrop moved to Read Oak in 1929. She was a member of the Presbyterian church here.

Survivors are two sons and a daughter as follows: Paul Lathrop, of Red Oak; H. R. Lathrop, Neola; and Mrs. Jack Young, Center Ridge. There are six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Also surviving are three sisters, Mrs. T. S. Alford, of Denver, Colo., Mrs. P. S. Ayers of Wichita, Kas., Mrs. Everett Titterington, Topeka, Kas., and a brother, Truman Wadsworth, of Ottawa, Kas.
