KNIGHTS TEMPLAR FUNERAL HELD HERE

The remains of Harlan Page Ladd was briught here for burial Tuesday from Oklahoma City, where he died in a hospital, Saturday March 31, after illness of 6 weeks. Mr. Ladd was formerly of Red Oak, coming to this county in 1871, and later moved to Red Oak. He was born in Schenectady, New York, Oct. 11, 1845; and was married to Alice Rogers in 1868. One daughter survives, Mrs. Jennie Ladd Griffin of Denver, Colorado, who accompanied the remains to Red Oak, and leaves two brothers, J. W. Ladd of Mexico, New York and M. D. Ladd of Rock Rapids, Iowa. While here Mr. Ladd was engaged in farming. He left here for Texas 30 years ago, where he had been in the oil business. He was a member of the Baptist church and a Mason. Funeral services were held yesterday (Thursday) afternoon at 2:30 at the Perryman Chapel. Rev. Raymond A. Smith of the Baptist church, preached the funeral sermon, the Knights Templar having charge of the cervices at the cemetery. The pallbearers were John Keckly, William Focht, W. W. Montgomery, Ralph Hiatt, John Peterson, Wm. R. Gilmore. Burial was in Red Oak cemetery.
