MRS. L. F. GILBERT DIES; BROUGHT HERE FOR FUNERAL SERVICE

The body of Mrs. Lillian Estella Gilbert, 52, who died of general paralysis Sunday in Kankakee, Ill., arrived here Tuesday morning on train No. 5, accompanied by her husband, Leslie F. Gilbert of Chicago, and her sister.

Mrs. Gilbertis a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Hipes, who formerly lived in Villisca, sister of Mrs. Fred Bridwell and H. T. Hipes of Villisca.

The body was taken to the Wolfe funeral chapel where it remained until after the funeral service held there at 3 p.m. Tuesday. The Rev. W. F. Clayburg conducted the service, and Mrs. Cy Underwood sang, accompanied on the piano by Mrs. J. L. Wheeler. The pallbearers were Carl R. Taylor, Harold F. Winter, John L. Palmquist, Louis Enarson, Frank Umphress and Edward Smith, and burial was in the Villisca cemetery.

Estella Hipes Gilbert was born at Spring Valley, Minnesota, in September, 1885. When a child of 11 years she moved with her parents to Villisca where she grew to womanhood. She has made her home in Chicago for the last, several years. Her father, mother, one brother and one sister preceded her in death.

She is survived by her husband, Creston; J. C. and E. C. Hipes, Creston; and H. T. Hipes, Villisca; and four sisters, Mrs. Gill, Preston, Minnesota; Mrs. J. L. Branham and Mrs. J. J. McMahon, St. Joseph, Missouri; and Mrs. Fred Bridwell, Villisca.
