Old Mrs. Fox died suddenly at the home of her son, George Stone, of this place on the 18 inst. and was buried in the Catholic cemetery at Stacyville on Sunday. She was perhaps the oldest person in Monroe County, being nearly one hundred years of age.

NOTE: Elizabeth Jane "Lisa" (Miller) Stone Fox married William Stone and Thomas Fox (1812 - 1872).

Elizabeth and William Stone had three children: James Stone (1841 - 1925), George Stone (1844 - 1909) and Eliza Stone (1846 - 1920). All children were born in Illinois; passed away in Monroe County, IA; and are buried at St Patrick's Catholic Cemetery in Georgetown, IA.

Elizabeth came to Franklin Township, Monroe County, IA in 1856 with her children and her second husband Thomas Fox (1812 - 1872).
