FROM NEWSPAPER CLIPPING FOUND IN FAMILY BIBLE:
Wesley A. Allison, 90, of the Albia Manor died March 27,1982 at the Monroe County Hospital. He was born July 16, 1891, in Monroe County, the son of George and Emma Parker Allison. A lifelong resident of Monroe County, he was a coal miner. On Feb. 11, 1913, he married Osie Major. She survives. Also surviving are six sons, Dewey and Albert, both of Oskaloosa, Sam of Albia, Lester of California, Mike of Newton and Dick of Pleasantville; four daughters, Elsie Rowley of Albia, Ethel Potter of Hanibal, Missouri, Betty Groet of Oskaloosa and Dorothy Trotter of Newton; several grandchildren, several great-grandchildren; and one brother, Jim Allison of Louistown, Montana. He was also preceded in death by one son, two brothers and four sisters. The funeral was 2 p.m. today (Tuesday) at the Humeston-Gilbert Funeral Home with thw Rev. Lonney Hulsey officiating. Burial was in Eslinger Cemetery near Albia.
